AG asks Odisha govt to submit ATR on land allotment report

Accountant General of Odisha Amar Patnaik has written a letter to Chief Secretary of Odisha government aksing him to submit an action taken report (ATR) on dubious land allotments between 2009 and 2013 on Friday.

Lots of complaints were filed during this period regarding land acquisition and management, distribution of plots, irregularities in compensation, irregularities in distribution of plots under General Administration (GA) in Bhubaneswar and CDA in Cuttack and irregularities in acquisition of industrial plots by Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO).

The AG has written a letter to the Chief Secretary asking for ATR on 2009-10 civil report number-2, 2010-11 civil report number 2, 2011-12 G&SS report 4 and 5.

It may be noted that, these reports should have been sent to the AG by November 22 2011, June 28 2012, July 28 2013 and September 22 2014 respectively.

However, not a single of these reports reached the AG on time. Also, the government is silent on the 68 incidents flagged by the audit complaints.

The AG has asked the government to take action on the above mentioned issues as soon as possible and send the report.
