AIIMS Bhubaneswar OPD closed? Here’s what the Director says

Bhubaneswar: Amidst buzz doing the rounds on social media platforms that the outpatient department (OPD) services at AIIMS Bhubaneswar are suspended from today, Director of the premier medical institution has cleared the air.

Dr. Gitanjali Batmanabane said that some messages are being circulated on many WhatsApp groups that AIIMS Bhubaneswar has closed OPD services from today onwards, which is not true.

“This is a false news. The circular which is supposed to have been sent by the Joint Medical Superintendent is a hoax. He has never signed anything like this,” Dr. Gitanjali said today.

There are some reports in media even in TV channels with photograph of AIIMS Bhubaneswar that the medical institution has suspended its OPD services till further orders.

Clearing the air, the chief of AIIMS Bhubaneswar said, “We have not done that and I want all public to know that we have not closed our OPD services as of now.”

The rumours on closing the OPD services at AIIMS Bhubaneswar spread after 26 healthcare workers including 20 doctors of AIIMS Delhi tested positive for COVID-19 in last 10 days.
