BJP MLA candidate joins BJD ahead of Odisha polls

Bhubaneswar: In a dramatic turn of events, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for ensuing Assembly polls has joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today.

Bhagirathi Sethi was fielded by BJP from Anandpur assembly segment.

“I have quit BJP due to infighting. Leaders are conspiring against me. I was a member of BJD parivar, this is my homecoming,” Sethi said.

The 64-year-old leader joined the BJD in the presence of party supremo Naveen Niwas at his residence here.

“I am glad that Sri Bhagirathi Sethi has returned to the Biju Janata Dal. His rejoining will strengthen the party,” Naveen said.
