Bodies of 3 children recovered from well in Odisha, mother absconding

In a shocking incident, bodies of three children were recovered from a well at Gurujang village under Kishorenagar police limits in Odisha’s Angul district today and their mother was found to be absconding.

The deceased were identified as Brundaban Behera (5), Rohit (3) and Rohan (1). Soubhagini, the mother of the children, went absconding after the incident, sources said.

According to reports, the trio was spotted inside the well by locals at around 2 pm. On being informed about the incident, fire personnel reached the spot and rescued the three children from the well. They were rushed to Kishorenagar hospital where doctors declared them brought dead.

The circumstances under which the children fell into the well are yet to be ascertained. Police suspected the involvement of Soubhagini in the incident as she has gone absconding.

Notably, Soubhagini’s husband was arrested a few days ago for his alleged involvement in ganja trade. He is currently lodged in jail.
