Body of a woman found from near a bridge in Odisha

Local police this morning recovered a body of a woman from near a bridge near National Highway 16 in Odisha’s Khurda district.

The Jankia police in the district recovered the blood-stained body of an unidentified woman from near a bridge over Malaguni river near Nirakarpur along National Highway-16.

As per local people, it is suspected that the woman was murdered and his face crushed to destroy evidence. Later, her body was dumped near the bridge to mislead the investigators.

“I came to know about the incident from local people while I was on morning walk. Early morning, people who had gone to take bath in the river spotted the body of the woman. We rushed to the spot and saw that the face of the deceased has been crushed with stone probably to destroy the identity. It appears that the woman has been killed somewhere else and her body has been dumped here. We informed the police and they are investigating into the matter,” Biswabhusan Chhotray, a Jankia resident said.

After getting information, the police personnel from Nirakarpur and Jankia police stations rushed to the spot and begun investigation.

The cops are trying to ascertain the identity of the deceased woman said to aged between 16-18 years.
