Body of Odisha Forest official recovered from hotel room

Balangir: A Forest Department staff was found dead inside a hotel room in western Odisha town of Bolangir today.

The deceased identified as Gokulananda Bhoi was working as clerk in the office of Boudh forest division.

Bhoi had checked in to the hotel (Room No 5) located near Government Bus Stand on June 7. He was in the district headquarters town regarding medical treatment.

As per hotel staff, the guest was last seen on Sunday evening and did not come out of his room the entire day of Monday.

The manager rang up the Town Police Station after foul smell emanated from the room.

The local police broke open the door and found the body lying on the bed.

“We have recovered the body and sent it for post mortem. The PM report would help ascertain the cause of death,” a police personnel said.
