Fresh COVID-19 case in Bhubaneswar after 14 days, Odisha tally at 119

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s capital city registered a fresh COVID-19 case yesterday after a gap of 14 days as the number of cases in the state rose to 119, Health and Family Welfare Department sources said today.

The person is a 77-year-old man of Madhusudan Nagar here and a close relative of case no. 41. Contact tracing and follow-up action is being done, Information & Public Relations Department said.

With this, the number of active cases in the state mounted to 80 while 38 patients have recovered so far. As many as 2421 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the state yesterday while a total of 29108 tests have been conducted till date, sources said.

Worth mentioning, four persons from Bhubaneswar in Khordha district had tested positive for the virus on April 14 and there were no new cases in the district since then.
