A total 1,73,871 students cleared the Arts examination with a pass percentage of 71.55 percent. Only one student managed to score over 90 percent. District-wise, Bargarh performed the best in Arts with 84.11 percent pass percentage and Sundargarh scored the lowest with 55.49 percent.

As many as 22,320 students cleared the Commerce examination with a pass percentage of 70.39 percent. Six students scored more than 90 percent. District-wise, Nayagarh performed the best with 92.61 percent pass percentage and Deogarh scored the lowest with 36.05 percent.

Out of the 9,890 students that appeared the Vocational Education examination, 4,714 cleared it with a pass percentage of 57.67 percent. District-wise, Boudh performed the best with 84.41 percent pass percentage and Rayagada scored the lowest with 17.17 percent.

“Our result in Arts has come down from 76 percent of last year to 71 percent this year. However, we are at par with the average of last five years. We have improved our tally in Commerce. We still need to do some soul searching to improve the result further,” said CHSE Chairman Basudev Chhatoi.

“We are doing well given our teaching conditions and the training of our teachers. However, we still need to put a lot more focus on quality education to make our performance as competitive as other board. This year, no college recorded zero result in Arts. However, one of the residential colleges that is most-likely non-functional now recorded zero result. It was an ex-regular student,” he added.

Results of all three streams have been uploaded to www.chseodisha.nic.in and www.orissaresults.nic.in. CHSE has decided against selling result booklets this year.

Students can check their mark sheet in the CHSE website – www.chseodisha.nic.in and those unhappy with their marks can apply for re-addition on the same website.

Earlier on May 13, CHSE had declared the Intermediate Science stream results. Out of 84,154 students, 67,999 students had cleared the examination with a pass result of 80.80 percent.

Overall, 3,73,000 students had appeared in the annual Plus II examinations conducted by CHSE this year.
