Class-VII girl raped inside school toilet in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Baripada: A class-VII girl student of a residential school in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district was allegedly raped inside the toilet of the school on the day of Saraswati Puja.

The incident took place on Sunday and came to light after she narrated the ordeal before her family members and her aunt lodged a complaint in this regard at the Sadar police station.

As per allegations, a Class-X boy student of another school jumped the fence of the residential school during the night of Saraswati Puja. He then took the girl to the toilet forcibly and allegedly raped her there.

On the basis of the complaint, police have registered a case under Sections 341, 376 (3), 506 of IPC and POCSO Act and initiated investigation into the matter.
