Contractor attacked in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar, May 3:

In a violent case of business rivalry, a contractor – identified as Nalinikanta Swain – was brutally attacked by his rival Lalat Keshari Jena at IDCO Tower of Odisha capital this afternoon.

Swain suffered injuries in his ear because of the attack made by a sharp weapon. He was rushed to Capital Hospital for treatment.

Prior enmity is said to be the reason behind the attack.

According to the complaint lodged by Nalinikanta in Saheed Nagar police station, he was attacked by Lalat for directly being in competition with him in a tender.

He further elaborated that both were bidding for a work order worth Rs 4 crore in Kalinga Stadium of Bhubaneswar. In an unlawful attempt to win the deal, Lalat has asked him to back out from the bidding process and attacked him today when he refused to do so.

Saheed Nagar police has detained Lalat and some of his aides and are questioning them.
