Deepika in tears on TV show

Mumbai, Sep 10 :

The usually chirpy and fun loving Deepika Padukone was moved to tears during an appearance on TV reality show “India’s Raw Star” recently.

A performance by Rituraj, a contestant on the music-based show, made her emotional. He sang the melodious number “Abhi mujh mein kahin”, and Deepika got so engrossed in the performance that tears welled up in her eyes, said a source from the sets.

A tad speechless, the actress said: “The performance will be on my mind for a long time. It has really moved me.”

She was on the show to promote her forthcoming film “Finding Fanny” with her co-star Arjun Kapoor. While on the show, she was also told of the journey of Rituraj, who had left his home three years back and has not gone back to his place ever since.

“India’s Raw Star”, which features rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh as a mentor, is aired on Star Plus.

Samir Shah undergoes role reversal in ‘Tu Mere…’

Actor Samir Shah found it “funny” to carry out a role reversal as part of a new track in the light hearted stand-up fiction comedy show “Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai”.

Samir plays the role of Khakra in the show, which provides humorous insights into the daily lives of the members residing in fictional Bungalow No. 6.

In an upcoming track, Khakra turns into Laal Singh – the owner of Bungalow No.6 — leading to funnier situations.

Samir, who enjoyed the moments, said in a statement: “’Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai’ is one of the most interesting shows that I have worked with. In the recent track, I had to act like Laal Singh — the owner of the bungalow.

“It was funny as I had to get into this authoritative role by being stern with the other members and acting as if I own the premises. I am sure the audiences will enjoy the change in characters to the hilt.”

The show airs on Sab TV.

Can’t handle films, TV simultaneously: Vikram Bhatt

Vikram Bhatt has had a tryst with television — as the director of “Haunted Nights” and as the host of “Ishq Kills” — but the filmmaker, who is presently awaiting the release of his movie “Creature 3D” Friday, says he can’t manage work in two mediums at the same time.

“I could not achieve much in TV, but I could have achieved much more in it. I know TV is doing well these days, but I will do TV only when I can give my 100 percent to it. I can’t do both films and TV simultaneously,” Vikram said here recently.

The filmmaker is known for creating shows and films with a horror and supernatural element in them, and his next, the Bipasha Basu-starrer “Creature 3D” also falls in the same genre.
