Elephant tramples woman to death in Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: In a tragic incident, a woman was crushed to death by an elephant at Kankadasoda village under Mahabirod forest range in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district today.

The deceased was identified as Uma Gadnayak.

According to reports, the woman, after waking up early this morning, noticed her house being damaged by elephant.

To know about further damages, she went to the backyard during which she came in front of an elephant.

The pachyderm then thrashed the woman with trunk and trampled her.

Uma was rescued by family members in a critical condition and rushed to Mandapala hospital in Talcher where doctor declared her dead.
