Eminent doctor of Odisha capital passes away

Eminent doctor Dr Bikash Kumar Samantray of Odisha passed away following a massive cardiac arrest at Bengaluru on November 8. He was 63.

A resident of Chintamaniswar area of Bhubaneswar, Dr Samantray had gone to his daughter’s house at Bengaluru recently. However, during his stay at his daughter’s house there, he suffered a sudden massive heart attack on the night of November 8.

The body of Samantray was later brought to his residence at Bhubaneswar on November 11 where his kin including his wife, five brothers, four sisters and others including Gyanendra Mohanty, Bijendra Mohanty and Jitendra Mohanty of the Swosti Group of Hotels and his high school mates had a last glimpse of the departed soul.

His last rites were performed at the Swarga Dwara at Puri.

Son of Dr Pratapa Rudra Samantray, he was an extremely popular doctor of his area for his kind words, philanthropic work and free services to the poor and down-trodden patients, Dr Samantray was an active member of the ‘BJB Friends’, formed by the alumni of the BJB College. He was involved with several religious institutions and temples in the city.

People of Chintamaniswar area have deeply mourned the death of Dr Samantray.
