Firecracker-laden mini truck goes up in flames in Odisha

Angul: A major tragedy was averted as a firecracker-laden mini  truck caught fire during idol immersion procession yesterday in Odisha’s Angul district.

The vehicle carrying the explosive materials was accompanying the Kali Puja immersion procession when it caught fire.

The fire Sparks deflected on to the vehicle causing the mishap at DIC Square under Hemasurapada area here.

Despite efforts to douse the flames, the vehicle was reduced to ashes. Panic gripped the area for a while. But the situation was brought under control. No loss to life was reported.
