Freight train derails in Odisha’s Koraput, traffic affected

Jeypore: A freight train derailed near Chhapidiput in Odisha’s Koraput district today affecting movement of trains on the route.

The incident reportedly took place around 10.30 am when the goods train was heading towards Jagdalpur from Visakhapatnam. Wheel of a wagon went off track causing the derailment.

Movement of Rourkela Intercity Express, Hirakhand Express and Jagdalpur-Visakhapatnam DMU was affected due to the incident.

Normalcy in movement of trains will be restored by 5 pm, sources said.
