“It would be highly beneficial in the future and also help to contain fraud if we ensure mention of the Aadhar card numbers while new registrations are on,” said the Chief Secretary while speaking to collectors via video conferencing yesterday.

Pati emphasized proper verification of the documents during registration and error free computation of applications in the conference.

The collectors requested for more registration forms to the Secretary of the Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Madhusudan Padhy, who in turn assured to send them the required number of forms within next 2-3 days.

Pati also asked the district administration to create awareness programmes at village and Panchayat level to encourage consumers to apply and register in the National Food Security Act (NFSA) scheme.

It may be noted that the state government started a drive to identify and register beneficiaries in the state for the implementation of NFSA on Wednesday. Over 3,50,000 beneficiaries have enrolled in the scheme on the first day at 1692 centres. This enrolment program will continue till April 8,2015.
