Bhubaneswar, Dec 30:
In a major breakthrough, three persons including the prime accused who allegedly pushed a minor into flesh trade have been arrested in the Odisha capital, the Commissionerate Police said today.
The 25-year-old woman, Tuni Sahoo, from Salia Sahi had allegedly abducted and then confined the 14-year-old victim to a house under Khandagiri police limits where she was raped by several men for over a week.
Besides Tuni, an auto driver identified as Gagan Sahu and kingpin’s brother Honda have also been apprehended. The house where the minor was confined to a room at Patitapabana colony under Khanadgiri police limits belongs to Honda, said twin city commissioner of police (CP) Dr RP Sharma.
“Though we had rounded up these accused last evening, interrogation is on to ascertain whether Tuni had been running sex racket in the area and the involvement of more people in it,” Sharma informed.
Further interrogation will reveal the antecedents of the accused, he said.
The girl, a resident of Nirankari Nagar of Salia Sahi area here, was taken to the house in Patitapabana colony on the pretext of shopping by Tuni, her neighbour, nearly a week ago and locked up inside a dingy room.
She was raped by different men for seven days before she managed to escape from their clutches on Sunday.
