Lift inaugurated at Balasore Railway Station

Balasore: A lift was inaugurated at Balasore Railway Station under South Eastern Railway (SER) division to provide services to the elderly passengers and patients.

Union MSME and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Minister (MoS) Pratap Chandra Sarangi inaugurated the newly installed lift during a programme at the Balasore Railway Station on Sunday.

“With installation of the lift, the train passengers especially the elderly persons and patients, who are not able to climb the stairs, will be benefited,” Sarangi told reporters after the programme.

The Centre is making efforts to provide better services for the railway passengers. Several proposals are there for development of railways in Odisha. Recently, a project has come up to build a new railway line to Rayagada district in the state. The plans are there for stoppages of trains in two or three stations in Balasore district. Efforts are being made to develop the platforms at some stations, he said.
