Lightning, thunderstorm warning for 7 districts in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Centre here has warned of thunderstorm and lightning in seven districts of Odisha between 7.45 pm to 11.45 pm today.

The districts likely to be affected are Koraput, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam and Nayagarh.

“Latest   doppler   weather   radar   and   satellite   imageries   indicate   that   thunderstorni :oinpinied  with  gusty surface wind and lightning likely to  occur over the districts of Koraput, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam and Nayagarh between 7.45 pm to 11.45 pm,” said a release issued by the IMD’s local centre here.

People have been advised not to venture out of home during this time and have been asked to take shelter in safe places.
