Man held for raping woman in Odisha

Rourkela, 19th April:

Police today arrested a 40-year-old man for raping a married woman at Fuljhor village under Mahulpada police station in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.

Sources said the accused, a native of Fuljhor village, had entered into the house of a woman at about 10 PM on Friday in the absence of her husband who works outside the village and stays there.

After entering the house, he raped the woman who was sleeping with her four children and went away.

However, he came back again after half an hour with a knife threatening the woman to kill her if she tells anyone about the incident.

However, the woman narrated the incident to her husband the next day after he arrived at his house.

Hearing this, he went to the house of Mundari and asked him about the incident. However, the accused abused him.

On Sunday morning, the couple lodged a complaint in Mahulpada police station.

Acting on the complaint, police arrested Mundari.

He will be forwarded to court on Monday. On Monday, victim woman will be sent for medical examination.

“The accused and victim would be sent for medical examination tomorrow after which the accused would be forwarded to the court”, A Gardia, OIC, Mahulpada police station told OST.
