‘Mentally unstable’ youth kills elderly man in Odisha’s Jajpur

Jajpur: A youth said to be mentally unstable allegedly killed an elderly man at Jamdhar village under Jajpur Sadar police limits here in the district.

The deceased person has been identified as Kalandi Mallick.

According to reports, the accused Surendra Behera had been roaming with a katuri (sharp weapon) in the village since yesterday. He brutally attacked Kalandi while he was passing in front of his house this morning. The victim died on the spot.

On receiving information, police reached the village and detained the accused.
