Migrant worker en route to Odisha from Gujarat dies in bus

Bhubaneswar: While people from Odisha stranded in different states have started to return to their houses, an unfortunate incident happened when  a 44-year-old man, who was stuck in Surat due to the lockdown, died midway today while returning to his hometown in a bus .

The deceased has been identified as Prakash Chandra Gaud, a resident of Narayanpur village under Sorada block in Ganjam district.

As per reports, 55 migrant workers from Odisha were returning to the state from Surat after hiring a bus two days back. All the passengers hail from different places in Ganjam district.  Prakash was also there in the bus. However, he fell sick and died midway near Chhattisgarh.

While the exact cause behind the death is yet to be ascertained, family of the deceased said that Prakash died due to other health issues. The Chhattisgarh police intercepted the bus  and sent the body for post-mortem.  As per latest reports, his funeral was also conducted in the neighbouring state.
