Mild earthquake felt in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: A mild earthquake measuring was felt in several parts of Western Odisha today.
The earthquake was felt in Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Jharsuguda districts and few other places like Bonai and Rourkela in the Western region of the state at around 5.48 pm. It lasted for a few seconds, locals say.
No casualty or property loss has been reported so far, official sources said.
Panicked gripped in the region as residents rushed out of their homes and offices to open spaces.
“We clearly felt the tremor for a few seconds. Being terrified, we came out into the open, said a local from Sambalpur.
However, Bhubaneswar Met centre Director H.R. Biswas said they have not received any information about a tremor hitting western Odisha so far.
