Mines Dept staff in Odisha Vigilance net over disproportionate assets

Jajpur: Odisha Vigilance officials today raided several places belonging to Chinmaya Behura, senior clerk at the office of the Deputy Director of Mines in Odisha’s Jajpur, for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

As many as five teams of the anti-corruption agency conducted simultaneous raids at Behura’s office in Kaliapani here, house at Sukinda, in-laws’ house, ancestral home and such other places this morning.

Multiple corruption-related allegations were levelled against him the recent past, sources said.

Till last reports came in, the raids were in progress.
