Minor girl brutally killed in Odisha’s Balugaon

Balugaon: The law and order situation in Odisha seems to have deteriorated with a series of crimes including murder, rape and molestation reported every day.

The locals were outraged at Chakradharpur sahi under Balugaon police limits over the brutal killing of a minor girl last night.

The deceased was only daughter of Rabindra Sahoo, a resident of Chakradharpur Sahi.

Police detained a youth for interrogation in the incident.

According to reports, the victim was working at a beauty parlour near the village. She was attacked by someone with a sharp knife while she was returning home at around 8 pm yesterday from the parlour. The miscreant hit her chest, back, hands and legs with the sharp weapon. Later, she was thrown to a drain.

Hearing her cry, some locals found her lying in a pool of blood. They rescued her from the drain and admitted her to the community health centre in Balugaon in critical condition. After her condition deteriorated, she was shifted to MKCG Medical College & Hospital where she succumbed to injuries late on yesterday night.

Following outrage by locals, police launched probe into the incident by detaining a youth.
