Minor girl raped by relative in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: Close on the heels of a four-year-old girl being raped in Nilagiri area of Odisha’s Balasore district, an incident of a class-VIII girl allegedly raped by her relative in Khaira area of the same district has come to fore.

Police have arrested Jagabandhu Mallik (18) for his alleged involvement in the incident.

According to reports, the minor girl was raped by Jagabandhu at Sujhagada village under Khaira police limits on April 13 after he found her alone. A police complaint was lodged by the family members of the victim in this regard on the very next day.

Acting on the complaint, police arrested Jagabandhu. His medical examination was today conducted at the Balasore district headquarters hospital.
