Lucknow, June 7:

The Odisha women’s Relay team won the gold in the 400-metre Relay on the third day of the 54th National Inter State Senior Athletic Championship-2014 here today.

The state relay team, comprising Purnima Hembram, Jauna Murmu, Srabani Nanda and Dutee Chand crossed the finishing line in 46.26 seconds leaving Kerala and Tamil Nadu to follow them for the second and third places respectively.

Earlier in the day, Odisha sprinters Amiya Kumar Mallik and Srabani Nanda qualified for the 100-metre semi-final with a timing of 10.71 and 11.74 seconds respectively.

The semi-final event would be held tomorrow.

Apart from this, Dutee Chand, who had won a gold medal in the 200-metre sprint yesterday, also qualified for 400-metre final that will also be held tomorrow.
