Bhubaneswar, June 7:

The Odisha Congress will begin its brain storming session to analyse its humiliating defeat in the recent Lok Sabha and Assembly polls from tomorrow.

Congress BhawanThe two-day meeting will be attended by block and district presidents besides state office bearers. Congress secretary Subhankar Sarkar will analyse and assess the party’s performance in the state.

There is every chance of a leadership change in the PCC following the worst ever performance of Congress in the state with disgruntled Congress leaders not ready to spare the leadership which led the party to drubbing in the recently concluded twin polls.

However, Sarkar played it safe by stating that any possible action would depend on the outcome of the assessment.

“There is need to analyse the whole election process first. Then we will come to conclusion what went wrong for the disastrous defeat of party in the state. The state leadership, including me, have taken responsibility for the defeat,” said Sarkar.

Responding to a question over possible change of guard, he said no one is permanent and appropriate steps will be taken at the right time. He, however, admitted that there was communication gap between the leadership and party workers during the elections.
