Speaking to reporters on the availability of books, she said that writing phase has already started.

“Writing of the books has already begun. We are hopeful of finishing it by June 15 and make the books available to students by June 30. I see no issues in distribution of books,” said Patnaik.

The students, on the other hand, expressed reservations over the delay.

“Our seniors used to start the preparation for Plus II immediately after HSC examinations. However, without a syllabus or recommended books, we don’t know what to do. This is wastage of time. Unfortunately, the examination won’t be delayed and we would be under added pressure to finish the course within a shorter period of time,” said Pradeep Nigam, a student.

It may be noted here that with an eye on all-India entrance tests, the State government earlier this year decided to change the syllabus and pattern of Plus II courses starting this academic season.
