Notorious criminal injured in police encounter in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: A notorious criminal Sada Nayak was today injured in an encounter with the police at Srikarua under Sadar police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack district.

Police have seized a gun, four bullets and a mobile phone from his possession.

Nayak, who has received a bullet injury on his leg, has been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital here.

According to reports, acting on a tip-off that Nayak was in Srikarua, police conducted a raid and while the former was trying to flee; the latter fired a shot at his leg following which he fell down and was arrested.

Preliminary investigation by the police has revealed that Nayak had links with gangster siblings Sushant and Sushil Dhalasamanta, who are now in jail.
