Now Cong seeks CM’s clarification on meeting with CBI head, but spares Sinha

After the BJP earlier in the day, it was the turn of the Congress in the evening to demand an explanation on the hush hush meeting between Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and CBI Director Ranjit Sinha yesterday.

Unlike the BJP, however, the Congress demanded an explanation only from the Chief Minister.

“Since Naveen Patnaik’s role in the mining and chit fund scams is likely to be probed by the CBI, the people of Odisha want to know from the Chief Minister what transpired at the meeting. The Chief Minister can not escape in these cases as the CBI has reached the doorsteps of the government,” PCC president Jayadev Jena told media persons here.

He, however, said there was no need for a clarification from the CBI since it is an investigating agency that needs to keep such information secret.
