The victim identified as Lincon Subuddhi, an IT graduate working for a Delhi-based NGO, incurred the wrath of a man for resisting his marriage with an 11-year old minor girl with the consent of her parents. The angry ‘groom’ hit Lincon’s head several times with a blunt weapon.

A profusely bleeding Lincon was admitted to the ICU of a local hospital. As many as 22 stitches were required to close her wounds sustained during the brutal attack, her father Rajkishore Subuddhi said.

” She would be kept under observation for the next 72 hours,” he informed.

According to Raj Kishore, his daughter had gone to rescue the minor girl after being informed about the attempt of her family members to marry her against her wishes. After reaching the girl’s home, she tried to prevent the marriage from taking place. Angered by Lincon’s ‘interference’, the groom backed by the girl’s mother attacked her with a blunt weapon.

Noida police have arrested the girl’s mother woman and launched a manhunt to nab the absconding ‘groom’.
