Odisha: 3 dead, 1 more critically injured in Mayurbhanj road mishap

Rairangpur: In another tragic incident of road mishap, three persons were killed today and one more sustained grievous injuries as a motorcycle and a scooter collided head-on in the evening on Budamara-Shankarpur road under Ghagarbeda police limits in Mayurbhanj district.

The deceased were identified as Manas Mahakud, son of Rajkishore Mahakud and Alok Ho, son of Mutu Ho, both from Budhamara village, and Janmejaya Behera (22), son of Fakira Behera from Raikala village. The injured was identified as Jitu Behera, son of Kulamani Behera from Raikala.

The ill-fated two-wheelers collided head-on leading to the spot deaths, an eyewitness said.

On being informed, Ghagarbeda police reached the spot and launched a probe. Police have recovered the bodies of Manas, Alok, and Janmejaya and sent them to sub-divisional hospital (SDH) in Champua locality of Keonjhar district, which have been kept in a morgue.

Post-mortem of the three bodies will be done on the next morning, a hospital source informed.

Jitu was initially admitted to Champua hospital in critical condition and was later shifted to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Keonjhar, after his condition deteriorated.
