Odisha: 5T Secretary talks to sarpanchs of Ganjam

Bhubaneswar: Amid the surge in COVID-19 cases in Odisha, Secretary to the Chief Minister and 5T Secretary VK Pandian today interacted with sarpanchs of Ganjam district and explained about their leadership role in managing quarantine centers.

Pandian emphasized the fact that as of now all the positives in Ganjam are of returnees placed in quarantine centers, so no need to feel scared.

“Strict maintenance of quarantine centers will make the difference between success or failure in our fight against corona. Sarpanchs have a major role in that and realizing this the Government has vested powers of Collector,” he said.

Sarpanchs have played multifarious roles in development, education, social security and food security etc. But their role in providing leadership in fight against Coronavirus will always be remembered by people of their villages, Pandian added.

People will celebrate those sarpanchs who successfully stop Coronavirus from entering their villages, he said.
