Odisha album actor Simran’s death: Hubby to be grilled, murder case registered

Sambalpur: In a significant development in Sambalpuri album actor Simran Singh’s death incident, the Burla police have registered a murder case based on the statement of her father, police sources said.

The husband of the deceased, who was arrested and currently lodged in jail, will be brought on remand and interrogated. Those who have been named in the FIR will be brought under the purview of the investigation, sources added.

Simran’s family members had alleged that she was murdered and suspected her husband Ranju Suna’s involvement in the killing. Suna and his family members allegedly tortured her mentally and physically. She had come back to her family in Jharsuguda on December 7 and staying with her family members since then.

On January 3, she was found dead under a bridge of Mahanadi river near Goira Matha under Burla police limits in Sambalpur.
