Odisha all set for COVID-19 vaccine dry run at 31 places tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government is all set to conduct dry run for COVID-19 vaccination at 31 places across the state tomorrow.

The dry run  will be held at all 30 District Headquarters Hospitals (DHH) and the Capital Hospital here. And, 25 healthcare workers at each site will be enrolled for the same

“Once arrives, the vaccine will be kept in the state vaccine store. Later, it ill be sent to two regional vaccine stores and later to district vaccine stores, from where vaccines will be transported to 1222 distribution points through ice lined refrigerators (ILRs),  said Health and Family Welfare Department Director and Vaccine in-charge Bijay Panigrahi.

Co-WIN web portal (trial version) will be used for dry run vaccination. A five-member vaccination team, including one vaccinator will be deployed at each vaccination site. Also, all protocols related to the vaccination will be followed during the dry run.

Yesterday, through a video conference conducted by MoHFW with all States and Union Territories, the state Government had requested the Ministry to enable the IT platform for the dry run at all DHHs and Capital Hospital on January 2.

Health Secretary Pradipta Mohapatra said no UK strain of COVID-19 has been found in any of the samples collected in the state.

“We have adequate syringes for the dry run to be conducted at all DHHs tomorrow. The IT link will be given tomorrow,” he added.
