Odisha cine actress Mahesweta joins BJP

Bhubaneswar: Veteran Odia cine actress Maheswata Ray today joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a function here.

She joined the saffron party in presence of Union Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other senior leaders at state BJP headquarters.

The actress had interest in police since her childhood. However, she got opportunity to enter politics years after her career in Ollywood, Ray said.

She lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his hard work to take forward the country on the path of development.

“PM Modi is the example for everyone, nutrition for youths, inspiration and pride for us,” Ray said after joining BJP.

“People outside India chanting ‘Modi…Modi’ when PM lands in foreign country is rare gesture,” she added.

Recently, two mega actor and actress Mihir Das and Anu Choudhury had joined the party.
