Odisha court quashes sedition charges against Sabyasachi Panda

Nayagarh, Feb 2:

The Nayagarh District Judge today quashed sedition charges against Odisha Maobadi Party (OMP) chief Sabyasachi Panda in two cases.

While admitting Panda’s petition, the Nayagarh District and Sessions Court ordered for quashing of sedition charges against him.

Nine cases were registered against Panda in the 2008 Nayagarh police station attack case.

However, Panda was charged with sedition in the cases pertaining to murder of a tyre shop owner and attack on coconut laden truck.

The Maoist leader had moved the court for quashing of sedition charges against him.
