Odisha districts to get Rs 10 lakh each for welfare of children at childcare institutions

Bhubaneswar: With an aim to ensure welfare and comfort of children residing in different childcare institutions across the State, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced a financial assistance for each District Redcross Society.

As per a release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), District Redcross Societies will receive Rs 10 lakh each to provide necessary support and humanitarian intervention to childcare institutions.

This apart, additional assistance of Rs 10 lakh each will be provided to Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Balasore, Keonjhar, Sundergarh and Sambalpur districts.

“The amount will be given from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) and other sources,” the release added.

Worth mentioning, on October 27, the CM had visited a childcare institution in Bhubaneswar to celebrate Diwali with children.

He had also directed the Chief Secretary, other senior officers and district collectors to visit local childcare institutions under the 5-T initiative.
