Odisha govt to build safe, beautiful future for Divyangs: Naveen

Odisha government will build a safe and beautiful future for the Divyangs (persons with disabilities) in coordination with all groups of society, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during a programme here today.

Inaugurating Bhima Bhoi Samartha Sibir, a camp for providing disability certificate to persons with disabilities, at BMC Community Hall at Unit 8, Patnaik said that Odisha has become a model state in field of implementation of welfare schemes for persons with disabilities.

“The government has launched various welfare and developmental programmes for persons with disabilities and it is their right to get benefits from the schemes”, he said.

“They have created their own identity in various fields and their contribution for the development of society is highly commended. They can do many things if get equal opportunity. The government will continue its effort for their empowerment”, the CM said.

Speaking on the programme, he said that Bhima Bhoi camp is a successful programme by providing all sorts of opportunities to the persons with disabilities at a single place.

“The Divyangs will be provided many facilities including health insurance and skill development training apart from the identity card during the programme”, Patnaik said.

He said that they can achieve success in all the fields through their own potentials, self confidence and strong will power.

Notably, the disability certificate will be provided to hundreds of persons with disabilities at a camp, organised by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to empower them in several sectors.

The applicants will be registered online, following which the doctors of different departments will provide the certificate. The applicants will undergo the instant medical test for the certificate at the camp.
