Odisha headmaster held for beating class I girl student

The head master of  a primary school run by the Odisha government was arrested here on Thursday allegedly for beating a class I  girl student  in the classroom on Wednesday.

Sources  said Rabindra  Kumar  Malik (50), the headmaster in Patita Pabana government primary school at Gopabandhupali area here under Plant site police station, beat up Sumi Bag (5), a resident of  Gopabandhupali area,  who studies in Class I in this school on Wednesday.

After going to her residence, the girl narrated her ordeal to her  parents. On Thursday, the father of the girl child  lodged an FIR at the Plant site police station  against headmaster Rabindra Kumar  Malik, following which Plant site police  arrested Rabindra Kumar Malik.

“Head Master of  Patita Paban Primary School Rabindra Kumar Malik has been arrested by us,” said  SK Biswal, IIC, Plant Site Police station.
