Odisha lady teacher murder: CBI appeals court for case record copies

The CBI which is investigating into the murder of Itishree Pradhan, a lady teacher of Tikiri Upper Primary School in Odisha’s Rayagada district, on Monday appealed the court here for copies of the files pertaining to the case.

CBI DSP, M Pathak, appealed to the District Sessions Judge Janab Mohammad Ajmal for copies of the FIR filed by Itishree, statement of the witnesses recorded by the police, charge-sheets and the status of police investigation into the case.

Sources said the CBI is likely to get these copies in a couple of days.

The central investigating team, after examining these records with its records, will take next course of action.

Meanwhile, a CBI team at Rayagada has begun investigation to find the name of the persons who had helped Itishree in lodging complaints with the concerned officials.

Sources said a press meet, which was called the CBI and cancelled on Monday, will be held today where it is expected to provide some information relating to the case to the media.
