This is India’s top tech-schools rank based on survey of colleges, employees and alumni which includes all IITs, NITs and CFTIs.

Every year Dataquest (DQ) brings the spotlight back to the T-Schools in India, which have nurtured great minds, by ranking the T-Schools on the basis of a survey conducted in conjunction with the Cyber Media Research (CMR).

The DQ-CMR T-School Survey 2014-15 has taken an interesting step by putting private and government T-Schools into different lists.

This is one-of-a-kind survey where private T-Schools are being ranked in a different list.  At Dataquest, it is a judicious decision since the rankings would inspire private schools to excel, compete and outdo not only their private counterparts by also the government institutions.

The survey sought details on core parameters like the infrastructure, academic environment, industry interface and placements, etc, through different rounds. To determine the top technology schools (B.E, B.Tech or similar level graduate technical course) in the country and rank them on a list of parameters important for both students and recruiters, Dataquest in conjunction with the CyberMedia Research (CMR) conducted an extensive survey this fiscal which was compiled on the basis of a methodology and calculations vetted by the CMR.

The Dataquest-CMR survey was done in two phases known as Desk Research and Primary Research.

In the Desk Research, the CMR team did an exhaustive desk research to identity the list of all tech schools in the country and invited them to be a part of the survey.

The Primary Research consisted of three modules, namely Institute Survey, Alumni Survey and HR Survey.  Weights were assigned to different scores as Institute score – 40 %, Alumni score – 30 % and HR score – 30 %.  And finally they got the top institutes across India in both the Government and Private categories.

Prof. Sunil Kumar Sarangi, Director of NIT Rourkela in a press release, has expressed his happiness and congratulated all stakeholders like faculty, officers, staff members, students, alumni and all others who contributed to the growth and development of the Institute.

This All India Ranking has added another feature in the crown of the Institute and this will also enhance prestige and International level, the release added.
