Odisha: Outlay for ABADHA scheme revised to Rs 4,224 crore

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved the revised cost of Augmentation of Basic Amenities and Development of Heritage and Architecture (ABADHA) scheme in the state.

The state Cabinet had earlier approved the scheme with a cost outlay of Rs 3,208 crore. During the course of execution of the projects, some changes were effected to the approved projects and some additional projects have been taken up which has resulted in the increase in total cost outlay of the scheme to Rs 4,224.22 crore, said Chief Secretary PK Jena.

Notably, the state government had launched ABADHA scheme in 2017-18 fiscal to develop Puri into a world class heritage city.

The Cabinet also approved a proposal for providing 6.30 decimal government land at Ramachandrapur Mouza under Rayagada Tehsil on lease basis to Maa Majhighariani Temple Management Trust for development of basic infrastructure at the shrine.

A proposal for amendment to the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Chairman and Members) Rules, 1995 got the approval of Odisha Cabinet, said the Chief Secretary.

The amendment will lead to enhancement of upper age limit for appointment of Odisha Staff Selection Commission Chairman and members and increase in pay for the posts, he added.
