Odisha police begin hunt for two missing girls of Sundargarh

Sundargarh, May 30:

Talsara police in Odisha’s Sundargarh district are in the hunt for the rescue of the two girls, who have been allegedly trafficked and sold in New Delhi.

Rape attemptIn a complaint on Friday night, Karmela Bhengra, a resident of Rampur village, alleged that his cousin son-in-law Anugraha Behera of the same village had taken her daughter Subhasini Bhengra (23) to New Delhi in 2013 with a promise to provide her a good job. However, after taking her to Delhi, he later sold her to a person.

“We don’t know her whereabouts since then”, he said.

In another complaint, Duryodhan  Ekka, a resident of Rampur village, alleged that the same youth, through his sister-in-law, had  taken her daughter Jagyaseni Ekka (23) to New Delhi last year and sold her to a person.

“Police have registered two separate cases and started investigation. Efforts are on to arrest the accused and rescue the two girls”, said SI of Talsara, LK Pradhan.

It may be recalled that the Talsara police had rescued two girls of the district from New Delhi in February this year.
