Odisha police nab two bookies for betting on IPL matches

Odisha police late on Thursday night arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in betting on Indian Premier League (IPL) matches T20 cricket matches.

Acting on a tip-off, Nabarangpur police raided a house on Umerkote-Raighar road last evening and busted a betting syndicate allegedly involved in putting money on IPL matches.

The police swooped on one Rameez Hingora’s house and found them betting on the cricket matches. Besides, Hingora’s aide Srinivas Rao was also picked up by the police.

Police seized Rs 18.80 lakh, a laptop, five mobile phones, television, calculators and a diary was seized from their possession during the raid.

Meanwhile, police are interrogating the duo to ascertain the involvement of other persons in the racket.
