Odisha police submits second chargesheet against pimp Sunil Meher

The Twin City Commissionerate police today submitted second chargesheet against notorious sex racket kingpin Sunil Meher at the Khordha Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court.

The 150-page chargesheet, in which a mines trader’s name has been mentioned, contains statement of 10 witnesses, sources said.

A 300-page chargesheet was earlier submitted against Meher and few of his associates on August 12.

Meher who was arrested by the Quick Action Team (QAT) of the Commissionerate Police from the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Dum Dum area in Kolkata on April 21, this year has been charged under sections 370 clause-1, 109, 34 etc of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the sources added.

Notably, Meher, the most wanted inter-state sex racket kingpin, has as many as nine cases against him of which he was wanted in three cases. He was active in Odisha and other states and operated sex racket.

It may be recalled here that a Kyrgyz woman was rescued and a person identified as Somesh Panda was arrested during a raid on an apartment here in Chandrasekharpur area in March this year. It was alleged that Panda was an associate of Sunil Meher.

In March this year, Commissionerate police had formed a special team to nab Meher who had managed to give police a slip during raids on his hideouts.
