Odisha: Spurious gutkha production unit busted in Berhampur

Berhampur: The Bada Bazar police today busted a spurious gutkha manufacturing unit at Penthasahi here and detained a person in this connection.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided house of one Rama Chandra Das, where adulteration of gutkha was being done.

As may as 105 sacks of gutkha, a machine and a sharp weapon were seized from the house, a police official said.

While Rama Chandra Das has absconded, his younger brother Harihar Das was detained for questioning, the official added.
