Odisha woman torches self to death, kin allege murder by in-laws

Sonepur: A married woman died after setting herself ablaze in Binika area of Odisha’s Sonepur district while her family members alleged that she was killed by her in-laws.

According to reports, Puja Sahu (21), the deceased woman, set herself on fire after pouring kerosene on her last night. She was rescued in a critical condition and admitted to Binika Hospital, where she succumbed to her burn injuries while undergoing treatment.

Police have recovered the charred body for post-mortem and started investigation. On the other hand, family members of the woman have lodged a written complaint with the police alleging that she was murdered by her in-laws. Further probe into the incident is underway.
