Poll irregularities: Odisha HC seeks reply from Khandapada MLA

Cuttack, July 18:

The Odisha High Court today issued notice to Khandapada BJD MLA Anubhav Patnaik in connection with a petition filed by Ama Odisha Party (AOP) candidate Soumya Ranjan Patnaik challenging the election and counting of votes.

Taking up the petition of the AOP candidate, the court asked the BJD MLA to file his counter in three weeks.

The court will hear the case on August 12.

Soumya Ranjan, who lost to Anubhav by a slender margin in the Assembly elections held in April, has challenged the entire process of election and the counting of votes in his constituency.
